 The Band

The band began back in 2010 when the founder members took a trip to the local pub to play a few tunes for a sing-a-long with the locals.

Within a short time about a dozen folk turned out to listen! We were asked to support 'Po' Girl by Rock Rhythm Revival who book class acts from around the world.

As we had no name at the time, someone in their wisdom decided on 'The Torphichen Gut Bucket Boogie Band" which needless to say was changed once enquiries for gigs started coming in!

A few names were banded around but the band wanted to keep a traditional gaelic/celtic feel which also described the band.

'Boorach' was born ..... ideal as it means dirty, messy and untidy in gaelic!

The founders are still together today going from strength to strength.

Other folk join the band when needed and when available ... Greg, Aidan, and Alison

The band have produced a live and unplugged CD and a downloadable single (The Wild Scotsman). New CD being planned for 2016
